Mr. Steve L. W. Hui, Chairman and Co-founder

Mr. Hui has over 25 years of global experience in both engineering and business. After graduating in 1972, he was employed with Schlumberger Corporation as a Field Engineer in the Eastern Hemisphere for wireline services (Electronic Oil Well survy). This was followed by S & T Enterprises Limited in Hong Kong as their sales and marketing manager. During and subsequent to his post-graduate education from 1975 to 1979, he worked at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, doing network and data acquisition systems for linking super computer centers in the U.S. with the Linear Accelerator in Stanford University.

Mr. Hui went on to work for Amadahl Corporation in Sunnyvale, California where, in 1979, he designed the bus system for the first Amdahl Multiprocessor IBM compatible mainframe computer. This was followed by development architecture for the first CMOS mainframe computer in 1981 when he was one of six staff of computer architecture at STC Computer Research.

Late in 1983, Mr. Hui founded Everex System Inc. and took Everex public in 1987. As its president/CEO, it grew to over US $500 Million annual sales with over 1500 employees worldwide. In 1991, Mr. Hui stepped down from day-to-day operation and remainded as Chairman. Since then Mr. Hui was active in the creative and advisory roles, some of the duties he performed since then included CEO/President, Chairman/Executive Director, Advisor, and Consultant for engineering and business for over 20 companies throughout the world. In 1999, Mr. Hui was the advisor to Henderson (China) group in Hong Kong, as well as the Principle Architect for One Trend.Net Inc. in 2000. In 2001, Mr. Hui became the President of the Telecommunications and Technology Group of Henderson (China). He was responsible for 23,000 km long fiber optic backbone in China.

Since 1997, Mr. Hui has been preaching the concept of "Meta" data and "Meta Services", or layer 7 routing and switching, and has been pushing forward with projects in this area. In 2003, he decided to practice what he preached by co-founding Power-All Networks Limited.

Mr. Hui holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972. Furthermore, Mr. Hui holds both a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering obtained in 1977, as well as a Masters of Engineers in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering obtained in 1979 from the University of California at Berkley.

Mr. Hui brings more than two decades of valuable business experience gained in the PC and Internet industry. His expertise in monitor and PC distribution and retail, as well as Internet marketing and e-commerce helped start Everex System Inc., formerly a major PC company listed on the NASDAQ. In 1984, Mr. Hui founded Techpower Inc., a successful distributor of PC systems and peripherals, and in 1993 founded KDS USA where he successfully transformed KDS into a leading brand in the monitor industry.

Mr. Hui was President and CEO of KDS USA, and Co-Founder and Board Director of eMachines, a major PC and Internet business in the United States. He privatized eMachines in January of 2002 and later sold eMachines in March 2004 to Gateway Inc. for $290 million. Of his $129 million in profit, Mr. Hui rewarded his employees by giving them $82.5 million. Mr. Hui is the second-largest shareholder of Gateway, Inc.. Mr. Hui graduated with a B.Sc. in Business Management from State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. Certified as Certified Internal Auditor by the Institute of Internal Auditors and worked in the accounting profession until 1982 as Resident Inspector, Transaction Technology, Inc., Citicorp.
